Good food begins in the machamba—the traditional Mozambican garden plot.
Whenever possible, we harvest fresh vegetables, herbs and seasonal fruits directly from our fields before preparing your meal. Many of the ingredients travel only a few metres from the garden to your plate. Our cuisine is plant-based, inspired by traditional Mozambican recipes and enriched with healthy ingredients from our own regenerative garden.
We also source as much as possible locally. Our flour, rice, nuts, seeds and beans, for example, are predominantly produced in Mozambique, supporting local farmers and reducing transport distances.
Whether you’re looking for wholesome everyday meals or delicious homemade treats, our focus is always on fresh, seasonal ingredients and simple, healthy cooking.
Guests are welcome to join us in the kitchen, help prepare meals or simply enjoy fresh, homemade food in a relaxed atmosphere.
We also offer traditional Mozambican cooking classes in English or German. Together with experienced local cooks from the neighbourhood, you’ll learn how to prepare authentic dishes, make fresh coconut milk from scratch, cook nutritious pumpkin leaves and discover the remarkable diversity of vegetables, fruits and natural superfoods that are part of everyday Mozambican cuisine.
For an even more authentic cultural experience, guests are invited into the home of a local family to prepare a traditional meal together. It’s a unique opportunity to experience genuine Mozambican hospitality, exchange stories and learn family recipes that have been passed down through generations.
