Choose Your Sleeping Experience

There is no single “right” way to spend the night at Tchambalakate. Guests are welcome to choose the experience that suits them best.

  • Experience the traditional woven straw mat, just as generations of rural Mozambican families have done.
  • Add one or more simple sisal sleeping cushions filled with soft coconut fibre for extra comfort.
  • Relax in a hammock with an integrated mosquito net beneath the trees and, if you wish, spend the night under the stars.
  • Retreat to the raised wooden sleeping platform beneath the roof of our traditional thatched barn, enjoying natural ventilation and the sounds of the African night.

Whether you prefer a firm sleeping surface, gently swaying in a hammock or spending the night high beneath a traditional thatched roof, each option offers a different way to experience everyday life in rural Mozambique.
